The reflection of romanticism in the poems of Adib Neyshabouri

Abstract

Romanticism is an intellectual art movement in contemporary constitutional poetry. It is a kind of emotional reaction against the central reason and the tendency to emphasize the human self and the tendency towards imagination. Imagination has an important place in the aesthetics of the school of Romanticism and it distinguished from other schools by its special approach to imagination. Many poets have written poetry and created works in this field. Adib a talented contemporary poet, should be considered the initiator of Romanticism in Iran. He is a low-sighted and sad poet from the people of Neishabour who has freely expressed his emotions and feelings in poetry by using his poetic imagination. The main issue of the present study is to show the romantic aspects of Adib Neyshabouri's poems in a descriptive-analytical manner. To achieve this purpose, first the characteristics of the romantic image of Adib's poems, then the place of the image in the context of the poem and finally the three functions of the romantic image of Adib's poems are discussed. The results show that the characteristics of the romantic image are clearly visible in Adib's poetry, among which romantic sadness, dynamism and individuality of the image have the highest frequency; the most important function of the romantic image of Adib's poetry is the effect on Emotion and coexistence with feeling and meaning.
